Cloyce Marshall Terrell
CANYON -- Cloyce Marshall Terrell, 89, died of natural causes at his home in Canyon, on Jan. 11, 2017.
Cloyce was the oldest of three children born to Clayton Terrell and Faye Marshall Terrell in Plainview on Dec. 28, 1927. His life was characterized by a thirst for knowledge and a drive for perfection. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1948 and flew F-84s for the Air Force during the Korean conflict. In 1957, he married Bebe Cisneros.
His love for the land enabled him to make a living as a farmer, but his passion for architecture is what gave him joy. He loved to design buildings and enthusiastically kept up with technology that allowed him to create.
Cloyce deeply cherished interpersonal relationships but nevertheless had an uncanny talent for offending almost everyone he knew at one time or another. Still, he cultivated friendships. His search for meaning throughout his life led him on many journeys, sometimes far afield from where others would tread. But he was a visionary and often saw things others didn't. Until the end, he did it his way.
Cloyce is survived by his daughter, Benita Terrell and her husband, Chris Mayo, and two grandsons, Carson and Tristan Mayo, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Terrell Glover of Kiowa, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Bebe Cisneros Terrell, and by his son, Grant Terrell, aged 24.
Per his wishes there will be no memorial service. Donations in his memory are encouraged to be given to the .
