Hope E. Richardson
July 12, 1931 - Jan. 18, 2017

Hope E. Richardson went to her Lord and Savior Jan. 18, 2017 while a resident at Greenview Manor in Waco, TX. Visitation with family will be Jan. 25, and Jan. 26, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at 4300 Timbercrest Ln., Waco, TX 76705. Celebration of Life will be Jan. 28, at 1 p.m., at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum followed by interment. Closure, reminiscence, sharing and fellowship will be at 4300 Timbercrest Ln., Waco, TX 76705.

Hope was born to Marquis and Beth Richard on July 12, 1931 in Marilla Township, Manistee County Michigan. After graduating from High School in 1949, Hope earned an Associate in Education and taught grade school in a small town in MI. In 1951 she joined the U.S. Air Force and met the love of her life. Robert G. Richardson and Hope were joined in Holy Matrimony in 1954 at Chanute Air Force Base, IL. They had three children, Seth, Jay and Jenny who were born about a year apart in Georgia, Florida, and Illinois, respectively. In 1958 Robert received orders to go to Bergstrom AFB in Austin, TX. He was transferred to James Connally AFB in Waco, TX in 1961. Hope was a godly woman of the Baptist faith. She made sure her growing family learned about God & attended Concord Baptist Church in Bellmead, TX.

Hope earned a Bachelor's of Education from Baylor in 1964 and taught Science at La Vega Intermediate Independent School District for over a decade. She went back to college in 1972, earning Master of Education from Texas A&M University. Hope returned to La Vega Intermediate and taught for many more years. Around 1974 she began teaching Adult Education. She enjoyed working with adults and seeing them learn life skills and attain a General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Teaching was Hope's calling and she fulfilled her destiny graciously. Recipient of several teaching and appreciation awards, Hope felt privileged to teach many age groups in all walks of life. Prior students would often approach her expressing appreciation and gratitude. Upon ending her teaching career, she continued to help people and worked at Heart of Texas Council of Governments (HOTCOG) until a bad fall moved her into true retirement at the age of 76.

Hope was preceded in death by her parents; and first born son, Seth Richardson.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Richardson; son, Jay Richardson; daughter, Jenny Richardson Urban and husband David Urban; and seven grandchildren and their spouses: Naomi O'Brian and husband; Aaron Richardson and wife; Shannon York and husband; Mandy Scroggins and husband; Jay Richardson, Jr.; Jeri Rainer and husband; and Teffany Geyer and husband. Hope enjoyed her fourteen wonderful great-grandchildren in her older years.

The family would like to thank Greenview Manor nursing staff and Hillcrest Hospice for their loving care and attention during Hope's last days.
