William T. (Bill) Hannis
August 3, 1951 - January 11, 2017

William T. (Bill) Hannis, age 65, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Olney with Chad Edgington, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Bill was born August 3, 1951 in Olney, Texas to the late Will Morris Hannis, Jr. and Bettye Lo (Holland) Hannis. He was a lifetime resident of Olney and self-employed in the oil industry and ranching. He married Kobye Mahler on November 26, 1982 in Olney. Bill was a member of First Baptist Church and Downtown Men’s Sunday School. He was a former member of the Olney Rotary Club, a former member of the Olney Hamilton Hospital Board, and former President of First National Bank of Olney. Bill was a lifelong supporter of Texas A & M where he was a fourth generation Aggie.

Bill was preceded in death by his Father on February 14, 2006; his Mother on March 10, 2013; his Sister, Holly Hannis Filmore on February 26, 2003; and his Aunt, Cherri Hannis Boehme on December 17, 2007.

Bill is survived by his wife, Kobye Mahler Hannis of Olney, Texas; his son, Robert “Bo” Hannis of Ft. Worth, Texas; his daughter, Lacey Hannis Miller and husband Scott of Ft. Worth, Texas; two nieces, Alyssa Cannedy of Wichita Falls, Texas and Shannon Rankin of West, Texas; and two nephews, Paul Filmore, IV of Ft. Worth, Texas and Ky Mahler of Waco, Texas.

Family visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.
