John Martin Alvin Brinkmann, 54, of Boyd, TX lost his courageous battle against cancer on January 8, 2017. He made his passage to heaven peacefully at home with his wife, Beverly, by his side. They were married on November 19, 1999.

Visitation will be 6-8pm on Friday, January 13th at Foust & Son Funeral Home, 523 S. Main Street, Grapevine, TX. Funeral Service will be at 10:00am on Saturday, January 14th at the Funeral Home. Following the service, graveside observance will be at Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, TX.

John was born August 20, 1962 in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1984, he graduated from Texas A&M University where he was a proud member of the Texas A&M Singing Cadets. John was employed at TD Ameritrade as the Director of Operational and Supervisory Risk Oversight. Not only did he love his profession but was honored to work with an outstanding group of people. Outside of work, John’s passions included his faith, traveling, fellowship with family & friends, as well as woodworking. What started off as a simple hobby developed quickly into the work of a true craftsman with a piece of wood. John had amazing vision to take an idea and transform it into incredible designs. John was an avid Nascar fan, and also enjoyed cheering on the Aggies, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers.

John was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Beverly Brinkmann: daughters Jocelyn and husband Mike Friel, and Emily and Husband Kyle Crumpton. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Brinkmann: sisters, Jacque and husband Robert Atkins, Jenine and husband Kenneth Mezzles, and Janalle and husband Walter Koenigs: numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. John is preceded in death by his father, John G. Brinkmann and grandparents Martin and Marguerite Barry and Alvin and Rose Brinkmann.
