Services for Ryan Barrett Vance, 38, of Montgomery, TX, will be Tuesday November 22 at 2:00 PM at Magnolia Funeral Home (811 Magnolia Blvd, Magnolia, TX 77355) and followed by a grave side service with Deacon Garry Janota officiating. There will be a family visitation at Magnolia Funeral Home on Monday November 21 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a vigil starting at 7:00 PM for friends and colleagues.
Ryan was born January 27, 1978 to Terry and Terry (Kent) Vance in Boulder, Colorado. He passed away peacefully Friday Nov 18 in his home in Montgomery, TX surrounded by the love of his family after 21 months of fighting cancer.
His family moved to Trophy Club, TX (DFW suburb) in 1981 where he became an Eagle Scout, graduated from Northwest High School in 1996 and graduated from Texas A&M in 2000 with a Biomedical Science degree.
He was united in marriage to Erin Marie Flournoy on July 8, 2000. They moved from College Station to Montgomery, TX in 2001.
Ryan did the pathology work for Lexicon Genetic Research in the Woodlands where he contributed to numerous published research papers and ran their lab. He was a devoted husband and father. His hobbies included building and doing things (building a shop, building a camping trailer shelter, other home improvements, cooking, camping, falconry, and more) with and for his family.
He is survived by his parents, his wife, daughters (Taylor 12 and Sarah 11), and brother Damon and wife Katherine and daughter Mila. He is predeceased by his grandparents (Joe (2016) & Wanda (2013) Vance and BW (2016) & Ida Mae (1985) Kent) and step grandmother Lillie Kent (2016).
The Vance family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to dear friends, community members, and caregivers who were such a support in our time of need.
Memorials may be made to a memorial fund at any Wells Fargo bank to the Taylor & Sarah Vance College Fund established by Terry and Terry Vance for their college educations.
