Edward Eugene "Ed" Adams
1930 - 2016

Edward Eugene “Ed” Adams, 85, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stacy Lee and Mildred Adams; brother, Niles Adams; grandchild, Kelli Flanagan. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Helen Adams; son, Stacy Adams and wife, Michele; daughters, Judy Flanagan, Janet Adams; sister, Jo Neita Bencal; grandchildren, Kacey Glasscock and husband, Brett, Hannah Adams; one great grandchild on the way; and a host of other family and friends.

Ed was born November 27, 1930 in Sour Lake, Texas. During childhood, he moved around due to his father’s job and eventually ended up in Alvin, Texas where he graduated from high school. Ed graduated from Texas A&M in 1953 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He became a certified Professional Engineer in 1962. After graduation from Texas A&M, Ed proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a B-36 pilot. He was stationed at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, Texas when he met the love of his life, Helen Lawson. They married in 1955 and relocated to Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, where he completed his service.

After being honorably discharged, Ed and Helen moved back to Texas, settling in Pearland in 1963. In 1974, they started ADCO Systems, where Ed designed and built industrial heating equipment. After 25 years, they sold their business and entered the life of retirement to spend more time with family. They enjoyed square dancing, church activities and doing puzzles. Ed was a huge supporter of Texas A&M and took great pride in knowing that all three of his granddaughters graduated from A&M. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christian Helping Hands at www.christianhelpinghands.org. A visitation for Ed will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Casey Jones officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
