Colonel Hollingsworth, Holly to his friends, graduated from Texas A&M class of 1960 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in March of 1961. He served continuously until June of 1989 when he retired from active duty. In his later years he moved back to Texas where he spent time with his family, serving as a member of Cibolo Valley Baptist Church, listening to southern gospel music, playing bridge and cheering on his beloved Aggies and Cowboys.

He is preceded in death by his Wife, Janice Hollingsworth and his parents, Merle Cooper Hollingsworth and Mildred Elizabeth Hollingsworth.
