Gregory "Greg" Edward Venghaus
August 11, 1956 - December 28, 2016

Gregory "Greg" Edward Venghaus, 60, of Columbus, Texas passed away on December 28, 2016 in Columbus.

He was born in Columbus, Texas on August 11, 1956 to Dean Arthur and Peggy Lou (Faist) Venghaus. On January 18, 1986, Greg married Edna Frances Frenzel.

He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Frelsburg and lived his lifetime in the Columbus area. He was a graduate of Columbus High School and Texas A & M University in 1978 with a degree in ag education.

Greg worked in the gravel industry most of his life. In more recent years, he was involved in sales for the aggregate and mining industry. At the time of his death, he worked for Crisp Industries in Bridgeport, Texas. He counted his business associates as close friends.

Gregory is survived by his wife, Edna Venghaus of Columbus, TX; his children, Jessica Burris, Jennifer Venghaus, and Evan Venghaus; his mother, Peggy Venghaus of Zimmerscheidt Community, TX; sisters, Patti Glaeser and husband Steven, and Donna Krumrey and husband Frankie; mother-in-law, Rosemary Frenzel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Margie Frenzel, Stanley Frenzel and wife Shirley, James Frenzel and wife Mary Lou, David Frenzel and wife Bernadette, Grace Oppermann and husband Kevin, Laura Walla and husband Glenn, and Mary Torres and husband Jesse; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Arthur Venghaus; grandparents, Arthur and Emma Venghaus, and Bennie and Frieda Faist; father-in-law, Alois Frenzel, and brothers-in-law, Richard Frenzel and Raymond Frenzel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Prayer Service on Friday at 7:00 pm; and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus.

Also, visitation on Saturday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Frelsburg.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016, 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Frelsburg with Rev. Glenn Hohlt officiating.

Burial will take place in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Frelsburg. Pallbearers are Steven Glaeser, Frankie Krumrey, Glenn Weishuhn, Ronnie Aschenbeck, Lance Taylor, Nick Leopold, Ronnie Venghaus, Jr., and Jared Krebs. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Glover and Calvin Roensch.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 245, New Ulm, TX 78950; or charity of your choice.
