James Joe Cepcar
(Died December 24, 2016)

James Joe Cepcar, age 70 of Corydon, KY peacefully passed away on Saturday, Dec 24, 2016 at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY. James was born in Lee County, TX on June 7, 1946 to the late Jim Joe and Justina Anna (Muzny) Cepcar.

He attended schools in Dime Box, TX and Caldwell, TX. He graduated from Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets. James earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating from Texas A&M, James joined the Navy and served his country for four years on the island of Antigua where he was a Communications Specialist. After he was honorable discharged from the Navy, James worked as a machinist in Midland, TX and Henderson, KY. Upon retirement he continued to live in Corydon, KY.

James is survived by his sister Martha Marie Cepcar Bass and husband Jerry of Bastrop, TX; and close friends and neighbors, Luis and Peggy Cobos.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Friday Dec. 30, 2016 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, KY. Fr. Freddie Byrd will officiate.

Visitation will be 9 AM until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Waverly, KY.

Serving as pallbearers will be Luis Cobos, Quenton Prescot, Bo Givens, Chad Barbra, Steve Busby, and J.D. Kramer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Texas A&M University Scholarship Fund, Rudder Tower, 401 Joe Routt Blvd., College Station, TX 77843.
