Richard Allen Monschke(1943 - 2016)
Richard Allan "Dick" Monschke passed away on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016. Graveside service: 1:30 Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to . Dick was a long-time resident of Fort Worth. Dick was born on May 19, 1943, to Sam and Mary Monschke in Orangeburg, S.C., where his father was training pilots for the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from Annandale, Va. High School in 1961 where he was an all-state defensive back for his state championship football team. He attended Virginia Military Institute for one year before enrolling in Texas A&M University, graduating in 1965 with a degree in aeronautical engineering. Following his graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant and completed flight training. He spent 14 years active duty which included a tour in the Vietnam conflict. Following his Air Force career, he worked for the Federal Aviation Agency as an aerospace engineer. In retirement, Dick actively pursued interests in golf, aviation and following Texas A&M athletics. Dick was an "Aggies" Aggie donating to both athletic and scholastic scholarship funds. He was an avid Aggie football fan and rarely missed a game. Survivors: Sister, Ruth Davis; niece Elizabeth Ehrbaker; nephew, Tim Davis; and cousin, Glen Slaughter.

At A&M: Corps of Cadets, Ross Volunteer, Squadron 10, 2nd Wing Staff.
All-State high school football player and played on state championship team in Annandale, Virginia.
Graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and served as an engineering officer in the United States Air Force.
Attended pilot training and served as an instructor pilot and KC-135 aircraft commander during the war in Vietnam.
After his Air Force career, he worked as an aerospace engineer for the Federal Aviation Agency for a number of years.
He was a devoted Aggie in every way and was a strong supporter of Aggie sports, the Corps of Cadets, and the Department of Engineering through many generous gifts and scholarships.
Survivors: sister Ruth Davis, nephew Jeff Davis, and niece Elizabeth Ehrbaker.
