Arnold 'Andy' Lee Andrews
November 6, 1926 - October 4, 2016
Arnold Lee Andrews, 89, of Georgetown, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.
Arnold was born in Plainview, Texas on November 6, 1926 to parents Rollo Guy and Mildred (Marsh) Andrews. He married Jo Ann Seale on April 5, 1986 in Houston, Texas.
He was the founder of IPS (Insulated Panel Systems) in Houston, Texas where he retired on May 26, 2005 after 56 years. He was born and raised in West Texas and served in the United States Navy during World War II, and graduated from Texas A&M University with
a degree in Industrial Technology. In 1949, Andy launched his metal building career with Metallicas as a draftsman. Over the next five decades, Andy would serve in various roles, such as General Manager, Corporate Liaison to the NCI operation in Mexico, Executive
Vice President and President of IPS. For the last 25 years, Mr. Andrews proved to be an icon in the metal building industry, founding IPS and served as a prominent officer to his company since its inception. He generously shared his wealth of knowledge by
serving on the board of directors for the Systems Builders Association. He was a man of integrity, highly respected and an inspiration to all who knew him. Andy was a member of First Christian Church in Crockett, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jonnie and his granddaughter, Leanne Andrews.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; son, Lee Andrews and wife Debbie; daughter, Beverly Andrews; Jo Ann’s children: daughter, Kathy Muras and husband Dave; son, Mickey Pizzitola and wife Susanne; daughter, Laura Ebersole and husband Paul; son, Jim Pizzitola
and wife Nicole; son John Pizzitola; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and 1 great-great-grandson; along with many wonderful friends.
Some people who made a special impact on Andy's life include Fred and Freddie Seale; Shelby Hughes-Perry; Brooks Watson; Kay Barcus; Charles Piland; Len Intellisano; Tim Allen and Sandy Denham. Additionally, a very special thanks to the entire Tiffin House
staff for their exceptional care and love for Andy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, www.parkinson.org or to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org .
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 8, 2016 in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home followed a reception at 1:00 in the Reception Hall of Ramsey Funeral Home.
