Obituary source unknown

Elizabeth (Beth) Homan, 55, went to be with the Lord on Sunday October 30, 2016.She was a devoted and loving mother to Nicholas and Austin Homan. She was also a devoted grandmother to her beloved grandson Eli Homan, son of Nicholas and Valerie. Her happiest moments were when she was in the presence of her family and especially her precious Eli. Born in Abilene, Texas, she was the daughter of Tom and Nancy Strait and attended Westbury High School in Houston, Texas. Upon graduation, Beth went on to Texas A & M University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1983 from the School of Architecture. While at A & M, she helped charter the Zeta Nu Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Beth enjoyed many sports and hobbies growing up with three sisters. It was not until she had her two sons that the real competitive spirit was awakened and she became an avid supporter of any activities her boys were involved in. Baseball was their game of choice and Nicholas played for Houston Baptist University and Austin plays for Texas A & M University currently. She will most be remembered for her wit, her laugh, and her beautiful singing voice. Beth sang in her church choir and when you heard her sing a Reba McEntire or Dolly Parton song, you would think you were listening to the real thing. But above all, Beth will be remembered for her kindness. She always seemed to know when a special friend needed a phone call or home cooked meal. She started her own ministry in her neighborhood that she affectionately called "Meals on Foot" to deliver meals to elderly and home-bound neighbors. Beth is survived by her son Nicholas, wife Valerie and their son Eli; her son Austin, mother Nancy Strait, sister Cindy Holifield and husband Marti, sister Stacey Hassin and husband Darren and their three children Erin, Brenna and Landon and many other extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by sister Sheri Strait and father Tom Strait. Memorial Service will be held to celebrate her life on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 3:00 at Fellowship of the Nations; 13305 Woodforest Blvd. Houston, Texas 77015.
