Gary Lee Holcomb, 67 years old, from Angleton, Texas passed away on November 30, 2016 surrounded by family. He was born on September 1, 1949 to Vera and Hoyt Holcomb in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Gary graduated from Texas A & M University in 1971 and Southwestern Graduate School of Banking in 1977. He was a member of the board of directors of Angleton-Danbury Hospital/UTMB-Angleton for over 20 years. Through the years he has served this community in multiple organizations; Angleton Chamber of Commerce, Brazoria County United Way, South Texas Girl Scout Council, Angleton Main Street, Brazoria County Fair Association, Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Angleton, Visiting Nurses Association, Economic Development Board, Angleton Area Crime Stoppers, Houston Area Better Business Bureau and Angleton A & M Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera Clay Holcomb and Hoyt West Holcomb, his brother Hoyt W. Holcomb. He is survived by his wife Danyett Holcomb, children, Carie Fletcher and husband Zack, Chris Dahlstrom and wife Mollye, grandchildren, Clay Fletcher, Kaitlyn Dahlstrom, Cole Dahlstrom and Cassidy Dahlstrom. Sister-in-Law Darla Holcomb Wilcox, niece Cindy Holcomb Geautreaux, brother and sister-in-law Chuck and Sherry Holcomb.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5th, from 5-7 pm at Palms Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 2 pm at Palms Funeral Home with Father Preston Weatherly to officiate. Pallbearers will be Kevin Lemons, Joe Patterson, Dave Blaekney, Kyle Teat, Chad Buswell and Tom Thacker.
