Jimmy "Jim" Carole Ballow of Evant, Texas passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 80, Saturday, December 3, 2016.
Jim was born June 26, 1936 in Whitharral, Texas to Jim (J. H.) Ballow and Cleo (Wood) Ballow.
After moving to Evant, at the age of 11, Jim graduated from Lampasas High School in 1955. He went on to graduate from Texas A&M College in 1959 and married Margaret Mahoney on July 25, 1959. They had two children, Deborah and James. Jim worked for Humble in
west Texas until 1973 when he and his family moved back to Evant and he bought the Texaco Distributorship in Hamilton. Jim's passion was ranching. He ranched with his parents growing up and started raising cattle again after moving back to Evant with his family.
He taught his children a love for ranching also and worked with his son raising cattle until his passing.
Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Evant while living with his parents and continued his membership until his passing. He was a familiar face on the back row of the church and enjoyed sitting on the back row with his sisters in his later
years.
