Tom Henderson, 97, passed away Thursday, November 17, 1016 at his home in Lake Jackson, TX. After a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m., Monday, November 21, at St. Michael's, he will be buried at 3:30 p.m., in a graveside service at Waco Memorial Park.A former Waco resident, Tom outlived two wives, Helen Izon Henderson and LaVelle Martin Henderson, was a father of four, grandfather of four, and great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren and steps.

He was born in Jersey City, NJ after World War I, lived through the Great Depression, served his country in the Pacific in World War II, and graduated from Texas A&M, Class of 1941. He worked for the same company, Royal Doulton China, most of his working life. When he retired, he started a second career as a volunteer. He was recognized for his 20,000 volunteer hours as a Providence Hospital volunteer.

A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of St. Louis' Parish in Waco and St. Michael's Parish in Lake Jackson.

Survivors include his brother, Francis Law Henderson and wife, Helen, of Falls Church, VA; son, Thomas S. Henderson III and wife, Dorlee, of Flagstaff, AZ; daughters, Mary Henderson Meyers and husband, Bruce, of Lake Jackson, TX, Catherine "Suzie" Henderson and partner, Gordon Locke, of Allen's Chapel, TX, and Winifred Henderson Dominguez and husband, Joe, of San Antonio, TX; "Grandpa" to Lindsay Meyers, Elisabeth Meyers Yoder and husband, Patrick, Nathan Henderson, and Joel Henderson; "Pa-Tom" to great-grandchildren, Oliver and Graham Yoder and LaVelle's son, Craig Bryant and wife, Debi; two grandchildren and four great-grands.
