GENE DARRELL SHANNON went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2004 in Pearland, Texas. Gene was born in San Benito, Texas to Darrell E. and Hattie Shannon. He is survived by his devoted wife Hazel Shannon of Pearland, Texas. One son and daughter-in-law, Darrell G. and Penny R. Shannon, of Pearland, Texas. His two sisters, Wanda Jamison and Aleta Alexander. Gene's two grandchildren, Kayla Shannon and Grey Shannon. Gene was a deacon at Shadycrest Baptist Church in Pearland, Texas. Visitation will be held Monday, July 19, 2004, from 6-8 PM at SouthPark Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas. A celebration of Gene's life will be Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at 11:00 AM at SouthPark Funeral Home Chapel in Pearland, Texas. Committal services will be at SouthPark Cemetery.
