Daniel Joe Ableman(2/24/1942 - 11/8/2016)
Daniel Joe Ableman, 74, of Mexico, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, in his hometown of Tyler, surrounded by his family.

Joe was born on Feb. 24, 1942, in San Antonio and was the son of Burr William and Margaret (Mathews) Ableman.

Joe graduated from John Tyler High School and accepted a scholarship to play football at Stephen F. Austin State University. He later transferred to Texas A&M University where he received a B.A. and master's degree in economics.

After graduation, Joe accepted a position as mathematics professor at the University of Georgia. Joe finished his professional career as a mathematics instructor at Missouri Military Academy from 1982-2009, and received the Abbott Albright Award for faculty excellence in 2009.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Linda Jolly Ableman.

He is survived by his family, daughters, Amy Young of Columbia, Missouri, Courtney Noblett of Ashland, Missouri, Kaylie Nowlin of Tyler, Heather Gerling of Richardson; and son, Jeremy Ableman of San Diego, California.

A memorial service will be conducted from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, in the chapel at Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, Missouri.
