Dr. Glenn Ray Pape passed away last Monday evening in the home that he built outside of San Marcos. Dr. Pape, 61, lived his entire life in the San Marcos area, attending San Marcos High School and Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). In 1978 at age 23, he was the youngest of his graduating class from Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, he built a small clinic near his parents' home, and began practicing in 1980. While continuing his practice, Dr. Pape built Kings Highway Animal Clinic at its current location.
Glenn was preceded in death by his mother, Almanita Dietert Pape. He is survived by his father, Lloyd Pape, brother Kenneth, sister-in-law Sharon and nephew and niece Brandon and Katie. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Pape Potter, brother-in-law John Potter, Jr. and nephew Christopher Cody Harrison (wife Danna Salinas-Harrison). He is also survived by his loving wife Barbara Bryant Pape and son Rex.
A soft spoken, straight-forward and compassionate veterinarian and father, Glenn cherished both his immediate and extended family, and was always willing to lend his time, skills, or wisdom to those who needed it. He respected all of his clients and strived to be readily available and treat all of them with honesty and fairness. He will be greatly missed by his family, associates, loyal clients and past and present employees.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 10:00am at Friedens Church. Interment will immediately follow at Lone Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you consider a living plant or a donation to Glioblastoma research at Defeat GBM Collaborative (www.defeatgbm.com)
