William R. Curtis Jr.(1966 - 2016)
William R. Curtis Jr. found peace on November 4, 2016, after a long illness. Beloved son of Janet and Bill Curtis Sr., he leaves behind his devoted brother and sister, Matthew and Allison (Paradis); and his especially loving and caring wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Olivia Marie; son, William R. III (Tripp), and Benjamin (Porter). Bill was a resident of Vicksburg, Mississippi, formerly of Pembroke. Bill graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in 1984, where he was goaltender on the varsity soccer team. He also was an Eagle Scout and is fondly remembered by the staff at Camp Squanto in Plymouth, where he worked for several summers as a lifeguard and waterfront activities instructor. Bill went on to Texas A&M University where he earned both his bachelor's degree and master's degree. Professionally, he enjoyed a distinguished career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Research Development Center in Vicksburg. Bill will long be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and his willingness to accept people as they are. He had served as an outstanding role model for his children, instilling in them the ideals and sense of fair play that he lived by. Services will be held in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Monday, November 14, and Tuesday, November 15. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
