Spencer DeWayne Owens(1969 - 2016)
Spencer DeWayne Owens, 47, of Mansfield left us last Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, to be with his Lord. Spencer passed unexpectedly and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Blessing Funeral Home. Spencer was born Oct. 6, 1969, in Bryan to Shirley and Danny Owens. The family lived in Carthage, Minden, La., Mineral Wells, Fort Worth and Arlington. As a child, he was a free spirit with a quick wit and keen sense of humor. Spencer never met a stranger and loved any occasion to be with family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Some of our most cherished memories are of his tall-tale fish stories out at his family's lake house on Cedar Creek Lake. Spencer attended Texas A&M University; his chosen profession was working with computer systems in IT. While in Washington, D.C., he was active in the D.C. A&M Club. He was a devoted Aggie, and the only thing he loved more than Aggie football was his family. Spencer was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Owens; brother, Tyron Owens; grandparents, Bill and Grace Owens and James and Anne Brewster of Carthage. Survivors: Father and stepmom, Danny and Deborah Owens; sister, Nicole Owens; brothers, Slater Owens and Garret Flynt; sister-in-law, Lindsey Flynt; niece and nephew, Madison and Jaxson Flynt. He is also survived by an uncle, aunts, and several cousins.
