1971-2016
Lance Thomas Barentine, 45, passed away on November 1, 2016 in Houston, Texas, the same place he was born on July 11, 1971. Lance was preceded in death by his mother, Paulla Hodge Barentine. He is survived by his two sons Bryton and Blake and their mother DiAnna; his father George Barentine and his wife Pat. Lance also leaves behind his sister Sherri Bailey along with brothers Marc and Brandon Barentine and nieces Krista and Karyn Barentine. Finally, he is survived by countless friends and co-workers whom he considered family at Clarksons Platou Shipping Services.
Lance graduated from Texas A&M Galveston in 1996 and spent his career as a broker in the shipping industry. He cherished every minute with his two boys and was so proud of them and their accomplishments. A true glutton for punishment, Lance spent Sundays continually being disappointed by the Texans and their inept offense, which may or may not have contributed to his death.
Beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend. You leave behind a void that will never be filled. The world is an emptier place without you. Thank you for always being there and always looking out for us.
PS: Sorry about all the times I ratted you out to Mom and Dad. That's on me.
Please join us as we celebrate the life of Lance Thomas Barentine at 10:00AM on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at St. Phillips United Methodist Church, 5501 Beechnut St., Houston, TX 77096.
