James Weldon Rogers
1940-2016
James Weldon Rogers passed away October 17, 2016 in Houston. Weldon was a native Texan born in Wharton, Texas August 20, 1940. He graduated Texas A&M in 1962 where he met his true love Carolyn Rogers. Upon graduation from Texas A&M Weldon was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. into the United States Marine Corps where he served his country in Japan and Vietnam. After serving his country Weldon took his first job with Shell Oil and continued his career in Oil and Gas until he retired from OpicOil at the young age of 70. He was actively involved in his church and Lay Ministry.
Weldon is survived by wife Carolyn Rogers, son Ryan Rogers, his wife Gretchen and daughter Rylee. His sister Karen Moore of Wimberley and her husband, sister Judy Owens of Baytown and her husband along with nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday October 27th, 2016 at 3:00PM at the Northwood's Presbyterian Church.
