Donald Hill Corbell(1936 - 2016)
CORBELL, Donald Hill Donald Hill Corbell of Dallas, was born May 20,1936 in Waco, Texas. After high school, he attended Texas A&M University where he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets. Don graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. Subsequently, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his commission as a 2nd lieutenant, Don began flight training at Pensacola, Florida where he earned his "Wings of Gold". Don flew the A-4 Skyhawk and the F-8 Crusader as a Marine Fighter Pilot. Captain Corbell completed his service with the U.S. Marine Corps after 2 tours of duty. Immediately, he started with General Dynamics Aircraft Co. as an aeronautical engineer. His love of flying drew him to Braniff Airlines where he flew for 15 years as a B-727 and a DC-8 pilot. Don's last flight was actually his first flight as Captain, when before his return, he learned of Braniff's declaration of bankruptcy. Don then started his second career as a Commercial Real Estate Broker in Dallas and was a current licensed broker until his death. Don loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, with all his heart and was extremely active in Prestonwood Baptist Church as a deacon, usher, a leader, and teacher of many Bible studies. Don adored his dog and faithful companion, "Beau". Daily, they would be seen together walking and visiting with neighbors and friends. Don was a man of high integrity and character who was very intelligent, sociable, and compassionate. No one could have a better friend. Don was a master student of the Word of God and most conversations resulted in Don sharing his love, knowledge, and understanding of Scripture. He loved nothing better than sharing Scripture and the Lord's principles and guidance for life with any and all who would listen. The world has lost a faithful friend and servant of God, yet we know with all confidence he is walking with the Lord now in eternity. His memory will be in the hearts of so many as we gratefully remember Don's loving example and his faithfulness to share the love of God, His Word, and the path to Eternal Life. We love you, Don. Lives were transformed because you shared Jesus, the Living Word, with us. "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Captain Donald H. Corbell's memorial service will be held on October 28, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.

[Date of death was August 8, 2016, per DFW National Cemetery.]
