William Weston Harper was born August 12, 1929, in Clinton, Oklahoma; Weston passed away on October 12, 2016, at his home in College Station and surrounded by family.

Weston was the only child of Roy and Margaret (Watson) Harper. He attended school in Seiling, Oklahoma through the 4th grade, when upon his father's death, he was sent to live with relatives, including his dear Uncle Ross and later his second mother, Aunt Jessie Judson. In 1945 Weston returned with his mother to Seiling and graduated from Seiling High School with the Class of 1947.

Weston attended Oklahoma A&M College and received a degree in Architectural Engineering in 1953. Immediately following graduation, Weston fulfilled his military service in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Korea. Upon discharge in 1955, Weston was employed by Caudill, Rowlett and Scott Architects, in Oklahoma City. At CRS Architects, Weston was project architect for school projects from Florida to Nebraska. In 1964, Weston joined the faculty in the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University, where he remained for the rest of his professional career, serving as head of the Department of Architecture from 1969-1974.

Weston enjoyed sailing, swimming, genealogy, reading, travel, and woodworking. He was a great father; promoting and supporting quality education as well as providing exciting travel and a small town environment to raise his children. He was a brilliant conversationalist, always engaging with friends as well as strangers, and always interested in their lives.

Weston is preceded in death by his wife, Sara Ann (Ratcliff) Harper, his son, Kim Weston Harper, and his parents.
