Homer C. Keeter
(February 7, 1926 - September 16, 2016)

Homer Clarence (Bud) Keeter, Jr., 90, of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away September 16, 2016.

H. C. (Bud) Keeter, Jr. was born February 7, 1926, in McAllen, Texas, the son of H. C. Keeter and Louie Lee Keeter. Bud married Bonnie Gamel Keeter on April 21, 1950 in Alamo Heights, Texas at 747 Estes Avenue the home of Bud's parents.Bud graduated from Alamo Heights High School where he played the clarinet in the band. Upon graduation Bud enrolled at Texas A&M College in College Station in the Fall of 1943 to begin his studies in Civil Engineering. Bud was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets and the Fighting Texas Aggie Marching Band. In March of 1943 Bud put his studies aside and enlisted in the U. S. Navy and was assigned to the U.S.S. Zaniah (AG 70).

Bud received his Honorable Discharge May 1946. Upon his return from the Pacific Theater Bud resumed his Civil Engineering studies at Texas A&M College and graduated in 1949, 2 years later than his original Class of 1947.

Upon graduation Bud went to work for the Texas Highway Department as an Engineer Assistant and over the next 14 years moved up to Senior Resident Engineer, Engineer III. Bud left the Highway Department in 1965 to start KAS Construction with his brother in law Clifton Steinbring in Richardson, Texas.

In December, 2010 Bud and Bonnie moved to their ranch which they had purchased in the early 1970’s. They enjoyed their cattle, fruit trees and watching the abundant wildlife on the ranch.

Bud is survived by his brother James Keeter of Fredericksburg, Texas Cousin, Mary Elizabeth Murry of Austin, Texas and numerous Nephews and Nieces.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tom Keeter and sister Jackie Keeter Steinbring.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, October 15th in the Chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home for H. C. (Bud) Keeter, Jr. and his wife of 66 years Bonnie Gamel Keeter.
