William "Bill" Tinslar
William "Bill" Tinslar, 88, of Midland, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 in Midland. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel with Walter Thompson, associate pastor at First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the funeral home. Bill was born November 10, 1927 in Ft. Worth, Texas to George William Tinslar and Freda Dixon Tinslar. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School and went on to gain his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M. He was drafted in the United States Army during World War II and proudly served his country. Afterward, he married Almeda Moore June 22, 1952 in Odessa. He worked for Noble Drilling and finished up his career as an Area Superintendent for Texaco. Bill was a long time member and Deacon of Trinity Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Midland Aggie Club. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 64 years, Almeda Tinslar of Midland; daughter, Cindy Tinslar Davis and husband Richard of Houston; son, Craig Tinslar and wife Tanya of Midland; grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Davis, Sarah Faulkenberry and husband John, Natalie Hodgdon and husband Andrew, and Melissa Johnson and husband Jay; and eight great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, George and Freda Tinslar. The family suggests memorials be made to the Texas Oncology-Midland Allison Cancer Center, 400 N Garfield St #100, Midland, TX 79701.
