Clifford Ashley
April 3, 1931 - September 26, 2016
Clifford B. Ashley (Ret. Col. USAF) age 85, died Sept. 26, 2016 after a long struggle with Dementia. Cliff is a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a SAC Pilot where he earned the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Air Force Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service
Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross, as well as many others. Cliff took great pride in his distinguished military career. He was born in Boone, NC, one of four boys, to Joseph and Estelle Ashley, all of whom are deceased. Cliff graduated Valedictorian from Washington
and Lee High School in Montross, VA and attended Appalachian State Teachers College. Further education included an Engineering Degree from Texas A&M. After retiring from the military, Cliff worked for General Dynamics in Pakistan. And, later when he returned
to the US, he developed an affinity for woodwork, making furniture as well as beautiful wood floors. Those left to cherish Cliff's memory are his wife, Beverly Bush Ashley, and his three children: David Ashley (Jessie), Vicki Ashley Woodall (Ronnie), and Deborah
LaCara, all of whom live in the Shreveport, LA area; as well as three step-children, Rocky Rowland (Mari), Robin Rowland and Rodney Rowland. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and three great-grand children. Interment will be held at Arlington National
Cemetery at a future date. The Ashley family would like to thank the Staff at Brookdale S. Charlotte (Caring Bridge Unit) and Hospice Palliative Care, S. Charlotte, for their loving care of Cliff. The family encourages Memorials be made to Hospice & Palliative
