William H. Klaerner, Jr. Col. USAF Retired was born in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 4th, 1933, and died on Sept. 22nd, 2016. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years and was a resident at the Army Residence Community. Bill graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1950 and Texas A&M University in 1954, with a BBA in finance. He received his MBA from Michigan State University in accounting in 1964. His military decorations include the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star Medal. Bill was a proud member of The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, The Association of Former Students, The 12th Man Foundation and a life member of the San Antonio A&M Club. He was a longtime member of Highland Park Lutheran Church, The Windcrest Lions Club and The Windcrest Golf Club. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy; son Scott; daughter Susan Short and husband Tom; grandchildren Ryan, Taylor (wife Maddie), Crystal; great granddaughter Sealyne; sister Kay Peck, husband Doug and son Todd. Visitation: Thursday Sept. 29, 2016 @ 5-7pm at Colonial Funeral Home 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, Texas. Services will be at Highland Park Lutheran Church at 11am Sept. 30th and burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors at 1:15pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of William Klaerner to the S.A. A&M Club Scholarship fund, 6205 West Ave., San Antonio, Texas, 78213.
