Celso Briones Jr , Age 84 passed away peacefully on Friday , September 16, 2016 at home in La Verne, Ca. surrounded by family. He was born April 1st, 1932 in Laredo, Texas, to Celso and Elvira Briones.
Celso graduated from Martin High School in Laredo Texas in 1949 and received his BS from Texas A&M. Celso went on to receive an MBA from University of Southern California and a Masters in Public Administration from Cal Poly, Pomona.
Celso and his family moved to California in 1964. Celso is preceded in death by his sister Ruth Lara and his wife of 43 years Elma Briones. He is survived by his children son Albert, son Robert (Deborah), daughter Bonnie Cummins (Alan). Grandchildren Natalie Teaford (Everett), Laura Huezo, Eric, Curtis Cummins, Sarah and Dana. Great grand daughters, Sophia Huezo and Hailey Teaford. Celso is also survived by his wife of 15 years Audelia Briones.
Celso was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed going to concerts and plays. He especially enjoyed listening to Mariachi music. Celso also enjoyed playing golf and played until recently. Celso had a love of traveling and visited several places within the United States and many foreign countries. He was always planning his next trip.
A Visitation starting at 5:00 pm and Rosary at 6:00 will be held Thursday September 22nd at Todd Memorial Chapel 325 N Indian Hill, Claremont.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am on Friday September 23rd at Holy Name of Mary Church, 724 Bonita, San Dimas. In lieu of flowers a contribution to Holy Name of Mary Church.
