H.L. Byassee
December 23, 1941 - September 14, 2016

A visitation for H.L. Byassee, 74, of Marshall will be held Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at Downs Funeral Home. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Mr. Byassee passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in Marshall.

H.L. Byassee was born December 23, 1941 to Billy and Elva Fern Byassee in Delight, Arkansas. Having moved to Marshall with his family as a teenager, H.L. proudly made Marshall his home for the past 60 years. Many will remember H.L. from State Farm Insurance where he served the residents of Marshall for 45 years. H.L was a graduate of Texas A&M Corp of Cadets and remained a huge fan of Texas A&M sports. His hobbies included reading, traveling and bird hunting with family and friends. The one thing H.L. cherished the most, his family, especially his grandchildren all of whom he loved dearly. H.L. will be remembered for many things, including a great sense of humor.

Those left to cherish the many fond memories of H.L. Byassee are his mother, Fern Byassee; sons, Billy S. Byassee and wife, Stacy, and Jason E. Byassee; sister, Jennifer Redmond and husband, Albert; brother, Jon R. Byassee and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Shawn Ross Byassee, Loryn Avery Byassee and Emily Grace Byassee. He is also survived by a nephew, Eric Redmond.

H.L. was preceded in death by his father, Billy Sunday Byassee.
