David Zack Johnson, 69, passed away in his home on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in Iowa Park, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Neal officiating. Graveside services will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
David was born October 3, 1946 to Herman and Dorothy (Moore) Johnson in Wichita Falls, Texas. He later married the love of his life, Ann, in Waurika, Oklahoma. David earned a Master's Degree of Agriculture from Texas A&M and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Midwestern State University. He worked at Wichita County Water Improvement District and retired from the North Texas State Hospital. Retirement wasn't for David, he went back to work at John Peter Smith Health Systems. David was an honorable man, husband, father, and friend. His passing will be felt by all he touched. David is survived by his wife, Ann; children and step-children, Lori Duke and husband, Bill; Becky Lawson and husband, Jeff; Zack Johnson of Portland, Oregon; Jon Hankins and wife, Christy; Cody Johnson and wife, Heidi of Portland, Oregon; and Melissa Brown; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Glen Johnson of Iowa Park.
David is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Elijah Johnson.
