Heidi Lynn Freeborn

Heidi Lynn Freeborn died in her beloved mountainside home outside of Jasper, Arkansas the week of August 15th. Heidi was born February 24, 1963 in La Marque, Texas. She was the salutatorian of the class of 1981 for La Marque High School and graduated from Texas A & M in December 1984 with a degree in Applied Mathematics.
Heidi lived life on her own terms. She bought a small RV and traveled by herself for a year throughout the backroads of the United States, sending wonderful pictures to friends and family. She was currently working on a book of her pictures, antidotes, reflective thoughts, and memories from her trip. The book will be completed in her memory by her oldest niece, Emily. From her travels, she decided to settle in the Ozarks Mountains where she built a geodome. She lived there for several years, with nature as her companion.
Heidi is preceded in death by her father, George H. Freeborn. She is survived by her mother, Janie L. Freeborn of LaMarque, her 2 sisters Kathy Freeborn of Houston and Jan Barron of Kingwood (husband Bill), her brother George Freeborn Jr. of Taylor, Texas as well as her 2 nieces Emily Robertson (husband Jason) of Charlotte, North Carolina and Miranda Barron of Parker, Colorado and her nephew Brigham Barron of Kingwood. She also had one grandnephew Carter Matteson of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Heidi’s ashes will be interred next to her father’s at Forest Park Cemetery later this year.
