Raymundo Rendon Jr. – February 16, 1949 – August 25, 2016

Raymundo (Ray) Rendon Jr. departed this life unexpectedly on August 25, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 67. Ray will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Elisa Rendon, his son Raymundo (Ray) Rendon III and his wife Diana Rendon, and his granddaughter Ava Rendon. He is also survived by his brother Ramiro Rendon and wife Diana Rendon and their children Ramiro and Julie.

Ray was born to the late Raymundo and Minerva Rendon in Laredo, Texas on February 16, 1949. He graduated from J.W. Nixon High School in Laredo and attended Texas A&M University in College Station, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1976. Ray followed in the footsteps of his uncles who had also attended Texas A&M and was a very proud Aggie. He met his dear wife Elisa in high school and they were married on May 19, 1973. They moved to San Antonio in 1976, where they raised their son Ray and spent all of their happily married years together.

Ray was a Professional Engineer and first started his career working for his uncle Albert B. Fernandez. He spent 7 years as the Bexar County engineer and then served 17 years as the Bandera County engineer until his retirement in February 2015. Ray also enjoyed photography as a hobby and was always the man with the camera at every family gathering.

Ray was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work and providing for his family. More than anything else, he was so very proud of his family and his greatest joy in life was spending time at home with his family. Ray was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. His sudden passing leaves the family with a broken heart, but they are comforted in knowing that he now rests in the hands of his Heavenly Father.
