Stanley Lee Ellison
December 30, 1941 - August 24, 2016

Stanley Lee Ellison, 74, peacefully entered into Heaven Wednesday, August 24, 2016 while at home surrounded by family.
He is survived by his sweet wife of 36 years, Loraine (Terry) Ellison; his children Linda Barden and her husband Rhett Barden, Terry Haden and her husband Daniel Haden, J.Lee Ellison and his wife Jessica Ellison; his grandchildren Maxwell Barden and Rylee Haden; his siblings Fern Kissell, Lydia MacDonald, John Ellison, and Dale Ellison. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.Lee and Matilda (Thomas) Ellison, and brother Clark Ellison.
Stanley was born in Premont, TX, to J.Lee and Matilda (Thomas) Ellison. He called Cleburne, TX home, and most recently, resided in Moody, AL to be near his children.
Stanley was raised on The Running "E" ranch in Falfurrias, Texas. He had a strong love of rangeland which led him to pursue a Masters Degree in Rangeland Science at Texas A&M University. He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as a Natural Resource Conservationist, and retired after 43 years of dedication.
Stanley also had a love for his local churches; Western Hills, in Stephenville, TX, The Heights, in Cleburne, TX and Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, AL. He served all three churches with unwavering commitment, and his heart was for people to connect with God and know His unconditional love. He was the definition of "find a hurt and heal it, find a need and fill it."
A graveside celebration will be held on Friday, August 26 at 9:00 A.M., at the Moody Cemetery in Moody, AL. Visitation to follow at Church of the Highlands
