Donald Eggebeen
Donald Eggebeen, age 87, of Holland, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 23, 2016.
Don was a member of the Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church, member of the Men's society and the choir. He has served on the Council as an Elder. He graduated from Calvin College, received his masters from Texas A & M. He taught at Northern Michigan Christian High School, McBain, MI, Oostburg Christian School, Oostburg, WI, Redlands Christian School, Redlands CA, and Holland Christian High School. He taught math, coached basketball, baseball, and wrestling. He retired from Holland Christian after 25 years of teaching. He volunteered for 11 years with the Rehoboth Christian Schools. He was preceded in death by 6 sisters and 2 brothers as well as an infant daughter, Laura Sue; in 1956,
Don is survived by his wife, Julia (Rudenga) Eggebeen; Children, Joe Eggebeen and Fiancée Tammy Fox, David and Linda Eggebeen, Terry and Kim Eggebeen, James Eggebeen, Janna Eggebeen and husband, Giles Blunt, Paul and Cynthia Eggebeen; 10 Grandchildren; and 5 Great Grandchildren; Siblings, Carl Eggebeen; in-laws, Edward and Sylvia Rudenga, Bill and Joyce Rudenga; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2016 at Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 259 Central Ave. Holland. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, August 28, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland.
