Roy Franklin Millen
August 31, 1933 - August 17, 2016

Roy Franklin Millen, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 17, 2016, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 21, at Osborn Funeral Home. There will be a vigil service following.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Monday, August 22 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Officiating service will be Bishop Michael G. Duca and Reverend Philip F. Michiels, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave.

Roy was a native of Mercedes, Texas and a lifelong resident of Shreveport and Bossier City. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and The Association of Former Students at Texas A&M University.

Roy graduated from Bossier High School in 1952 where he played football and was a member of the band. Roy is a former student of Texas A&M University, class of '56, where he was proud to be on the football team. He loved telling stories of being one of the 'Junction Boys' under coach Bear Bryant. While at Texas A&M he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering. He enjoyed a career designing and building numerous plants in the forest products industry throughout the southeastern region of the United States.

Roy also enjoyed spending time with his three sons playing golf, entertaining friends and family, and most of all dancing with his wife, Camille.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Earl L Millen and Bonnie Ingram Millen; brother, Donald Earl Millen, his son, Eric Brian Millen; and brother-in-law, Peter Angelo Danna. He is survived by wife of 58 years, Camille Danna Millen; one daughter, Danna Ann Millen; sons, Michael Roy Millen (Maria), Monty Earl Millen (Stacy), daughter-in-law, Linda King Millen; and four grandchildren, Victoria Rose, Amanda Leigh, Emma Claire, and Jack Hudson Millen. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Angie P. Danna and Anita D. Millen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steven Danna, David Millen, Jack Millen, Dodd Millen, Joe Caplis and Bill McGill.

The family requests that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's association, St Elizabeth Ann Seton, or a charity of your choice.

The Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Garden Park Nursing Home and his care giver, Louise Tinsley.
