Funeral for John C. Adams, 82, of Nederland was held Monday at 2 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Timpson, Texas. Burial was in New Prospect Cemetery in Shelby County.

He died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur.

Mr. Adams taught Vocation Agriculture at Kirbyville High School for many years and later became School Superintendent. He also taught in the Roganville Schools and retired from the Harlingen Independent School District.

He was a native of Timpson and had lived in Nederland for the past 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Adams of Nederland; a daughter, Janet Kelly of Beaumont; two brothers, Earl Adams and J. B. Adams; and two sisters Maggie Wright and Myra Adams, all of Henderson; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
