Born in Hondo, Texas on Jan. 3, 1937
Departed on Jul. 15, 2016 and resided in Hondo, TX.

Peyton A. "Skip" Bradley

Skip Bradley passed away peacefully at his ranch in Hondo, TX on July 15, 2016 at the age of 79 from Chondrosarcoma, a form of bone cancer.

He was born on January 3, 1937 in Hondo, TX, the only child of Jack Peyton Bradley and Irene Lena Schweers Bradley. He attended and graduated from Alamo Heights High School and continued his education graduating from Texas A&M College in 1959; all four years in the Corp of Cadets, "Spider D". He was honorably discharged from military service in the US Army.

He worked for Solo Cup Company 29 years, retiring at 55 and enjoyed his remaining years as a Medina County Rancher. While working at Solo he met, and then later married, the love of his life Dianne Armstrong Byrd, uniting two families on May 2, 1995.

Skip was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and served on various committees there. He especially enjoyed taking charge of "Greeters" for the two Sunday morning services. He became well known as "Captain Greeter" for his friendliness and dedication. He assisted with the initiation of the church pantry and establishing the Christmas Food Bags for the needy. One of his favorite church activities was helping those less fortunate and never wanting to see anyone go hungry.

Skip was an avid reader of the Bible enjoying the teachings, lessons, and history of the Word. He cherished the many friendships he has made throughout his life. He loved the outdoors in "God's Country", and had his beloved Belle along with him as guard dog and friend. Skip was an avid hunter and fisherman but also enjoyed watching nature in his later years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Peyton and Irene Lena Bradley, and also his grandfather, Dr. Benjamin Roach Bradley of Hondo.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Bradley: 3 sons: twins - Peyton Alfred Bradley Jr and his wife Laurie, and Jack Peyton Bradley, and James Sharp Bradley. Grandchildren are Peyton A. Bradley III, Stephanie Lena Bradley, Jack P. Bradley Ill, Leah Bradley, and Matthew J. Bradley. Also included are his step- children, Deana Ann Coursey and husband Jac, Jennifer Rhea Carstens and husband Eric, Johnny Byrd and wife Kristin, Anneke Dianne Tschirhart and husband Jody. Grandchildren include Jordan Gilmer, Sydney Coursey, Logan and Jacson Sawyer Carstens, Brynlea and Becker Byrd, Harlee and Harper Tschirhart, and Great grandson Maverick McCoy Gilmer.

Special thanks to Pastor David Mayer for his support and devotion, Skip and David shared a special bond. Special thanks to his Doctors, Zachery Child, Richard Neuman, David Friedman and Myles Hutson; The River City Hospice, his Nurses, Lynda Cearley, Margie Summers, and Melissa Turner, and his aide, Mike Kleespies. Last but not least, many thanks to our "God Squad", and friends that have provided prayers, cards and words of support throughout this time.

Memorial Service will be on Wednesday the 20th of July at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1303 Ave. M, Hondo, Texas at 10:00 a.m. Reception following immediately after the service in the Activity Center.
