Charles Robert Moorhead Jr.
Charles Robert Moorhead, Jr., 84, a resident of Penney Farms, FL, since 1999, died April 1, 2004, at Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park, FL. He was born in Blairsville, PA on June 4, 1919, and moved to Penney Farms from San Antonio, TX. He was an Army
veteran who enlisted in the Army in 1940, became an officer, and served in the European theater during World War II. Later, he served as an intelligence officer in the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1960 as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Counterintelligence
Corps. His peacetime assignments included tours in Japan, Baltimore, MD, Albuquerque, NM, and Washington, DC. He became an educator upon retirement from the Army. He was an instructor at Allen Academy, Bryan, TX, and later, worked in guidance and special education
for Bexar County schools in San Antonio, TX, before retiring again in 1980. He was a Presbyterian, and served his church in San Antonio for many years as Deacon, Elder and Sunday school teacher. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Alzafar Shrine in
San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Marie Ross; two sons, Charles R. Moorhead, III, and Douglas R. Moorhead; two brothers, Harry N. and Edgar H.; and his parents, Charles R. and Berthabel N. Moorhead. Survivors include nieces, Janet
