Michael Duane Lucas

Michael Duane Lucas, 50, of Valley Mills, passed away Thursday, July 28th at his residence with his family and friends by his side.

A Celebration of Life Service: 3PM Saturday, August 6th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. The family requests for those attending the service to wear maroon and white in honor of Mike.

No visitation, nor viewing are planned.

Mike was born December 11, 1965 in Waco to Morris “Luke” and DeDe (Siegle) Lucas. He graduated from Midway High School in 1984 and then met “the love of his life,” Alicia Pocock. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He married Alicia Pocock on August 18, 1990. Mike started his own business Aqua-Terra Engineering while residing in Rockwall, and also served as President of Rockwall Rotary Club, served on City of Rockwall Planning & Zoning Commission, and volunteered for numerous organizations. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who cherished his connections to nature through hiking, skiing, boating, and camping. He loved travelling the world, especially places like Mt. Rainier and Maui. Mike also enjoyed those special fishing and Nascar outings with his father. And, everyone knows Mike loved those Texas Aggies thru-and-thru.

Survivors include wife of 25 years and ” his Best Friend”, Alicia Lucas; his daughter and “his Sweet Pea,” Alexa Lucas; parents, Morris “Luke” and DeDe Lucas; sister, Shawnna Latino and husband Chad; niece, Bailee Norris; nephews, Aidan Latino and Tristan Latino; mother-in-law, Vera Alvena Pocock; brothers-in-law, Stephen Pocock and Terry Trull; sister-in-law, Neva Casey; numerous other relatives and friends; and his beloved pets.

Mike was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Nicholas Pocock.

Honorary pallbearers are Rob Meyer, John Landers, Dean Martelli, and John Ivie.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sumit Subudhi and Dr. Carl Chakmakjian for your excellent care, and a special thank you to Dr. Donny Stewart for your above and beyond care and support.
