John C. "Skip" Walton, of Sarasota, Florida, went home with his Heavenly Father, July 16, 2016. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Walton.
Skip was born Dec. 5, 1933 in Kirbyville, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M, married his HS sweetheart Gloria Ann Picou, and was commissioned into the US Army in 1955. Skip served in Vietnam and retired a LTCOL. He continued his public service as Legislative Assistant to Senator Bennett Johnston of Louisiana. Skip retired to Sarasota in 1995 where he spent time fishing and with family. He enjoyed volunteering at Faith Baptist Church.
Skip is survived by his four children and his grandchildren.
Our family extends special thanks to Ellen VanDerNoot for the love and care she gave our father.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church.
