Ross E. Lanier(1925 - 2016)
Ross Lanier, 91, was surrounded by his family as he peacefully departed for heaven, Thursday, July 21, 2016. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Moore Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Rd., Arlington. Viewing: will begin at 9 a.m. Ross was a man of many accomplishments. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 and served with honor over the next 3 years. After his discharge, Ross attended Texas A&M where he would earn his bachelor, masters, and advance electrical engineering degrees. Ross went on to become a successful engineer at Chance Vaught, a real estate broker, and a CPA. He also taught at Texas A&M, University of Arkansas and UTA, was listed multiple times in Who's Who and personally invited by President Richard Nixon to serve in his administration. Of all his accomplishments, nothing exceeded his love for God and his family. Survivors: He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Jo Lanier; his three children, Dr. Michael Lanier (Dale), Joe Lanier (Linda) and Judy McReynolds (Earl); eight grandchildren, Brandon Lanier, Matt Lanier, Sherri Sims, Jonathan Lanier, David Lanier, Joshua Lanier, Jennifer Gibson, Joanna Murray; and nine great-grandchildren.
