Ray Ned Walker(1933 - 2016)
Ray Ned Walker, 83, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016, in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Alvarado Church of Christ, 401 East Highway 67, Alvarado. Memorials: The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the church on his behalf. Ray was born March 19, 1933, in Barton's Chapel. He was married to Truetta Fern Waldrop on July 20, 1955, celebrating their 60th anniversary in 2015 with friends and family. They were very active in their local church. Ray served his country for 31 years and retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Texas Army National Guard. He was awarded the U.S. Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Lone Star Distinguished Service Medal, Texas Medal of Merit and numerous performance commendations. Ray also served terms as the Division I lieutenant governor of Kiwanis International and Mineral Wells Booster Club president. He was the 1949 valedictorian of Perrin High School in Perrin and a 1954 graduate of Texas A&M University. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Gladys Walker and sister, Lena Anderson. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Truetta of Alvarado; children, Ray Walker Jr. and wife, Amy, of Aledo, Glynn Walker and wife, Chele, of Cross Plains, Rex Walker and wife, Mechelle, of Richmond, Troy Walker and wife, Lisa, of Montgomery, Judy Hargrove and husband, Dee, of Midlothian; and nieces, Kathryn Reagan, Marie Holman and Nelda Cooper. His descendants include 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

His descendants include thirteen (13) grandchildren and seven (7) great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Gladys Walker and sister, Lena Anderson.
