Ray Campbell Hudson went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, following a brief illness. A memorial service honoring his life will be Saturday, July 9 at 11 AM in the Memorial Chapel of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM in the Church Parlor. Graveside services will be in Goldthwaite, TX at 10 AM, Monday, July 11.

Ray was born in Goldthwaite, TX on April 23, 1937 as the only child of V.A. and Lois Hudson. Ray graduated from Texas A & M University with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree. He retired from the United States Army as a Lt. Colonel in 1997 and began work for International Paper Company in Mansfield, LA, retiring from there in 2002. Ray was a faithful Christian and loving husband, father and friend. He was respected by all who knew him. Ray was a member of Broadmoor Baptist church where he served as a deacon and active member of the Harvill Sunday School Class.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and by the mother of his children, Virginia Hudson. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tommie Raley Hudson; two sons: Mark Hudson and wife, April of Austin, TX, Michael Hudson and wife, Donna of Chatham, LA, stepson, David Preuett of Shreveport, stepdaughter, Paula Critselous and husband Bobby of Bentonville, AR, grandchildren: Sarah and Megan Hudson, and step-grandchildren: Cullen and Abby Critselous and Jeremy Anderson.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Broadmoor Baptist Church and the Harvill Sunday School Class. The family thanks the nurses and staff at Highland Hospital for their kindness during Rays brief illness and Dr. Craig Miller for his continued care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at Broadmoor Baptist Church or the .
