GILMORE, Clarence Fielding Clarence Fielding Gilmore born on December 22, 1922 in Wills Point, Texas and passed away July 3, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. Preceded in death by father, Leon M. Gilmore; mother, Rosalie Hill Gilmore; brother, Leon M. Gilmore, Jr. Survived by wife, Hazel; daughters, Patricia Ann Gilmore and Rosanne Gilmore McAdam; son-in-law, Chris McAdam; grandson, Fielding Pittman and Fiancee Erin McCracken; grandson, William Pittman and wife Jess Pittman. Clarence graduated from Texas A&M class of '44 and served in the Army Air Corp in the Pacific Theatre retiring as a major in 1953. He owned and operated Clarence Gilmore and Associates, consulting engineers. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11 AM at the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church Library.

Obituary written by Clarence F. Gilmore '44 before his death, sent by grandson

Clarence F. Gilmore ’44 of Dallas, Texas (formally of Paris and Gainesville) passed away on July 3, 2016. He was a First Lieutenant of the Unites States Army Field Artilleryman and liaison pilot during World War II. He was recalled to active duty as a Captain and Army Aviator during the Korean War, serving on the staff and faculty of the Army Aviation School at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He was promoted Major in the Army Reserve. He worked in the mechanical contacting industry for 4 years, then practiced engineering professionally for 35 years, designing commercial environmental systems. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon M. Gilmore ’20, who played center for Coach D.X. Bible’s undefeated, untied, and un-scored-on Texas Aggie Football team of 1917. He is survived by Hazel, his wife of 64 years, daughters Patricia Ann Gilmore and Rosanne McAdam, and his grandsons Fielding Pittman and William Pittman, A&M Class of 2014.
