Robert B. "Bob" Boley(1928 - 2016)
Robert B. "Bob" Boley, 87, formerly of Arlington, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, in Waco. Service: Per Bob's wishes, only private family remembrances will be held. Bob was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Big Spring, the son of Robert Earnest and Dalpha Irwin Boley.
He attended schools in Conroe and was a graduate of Conroe High School. He then received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Sam Houston State University in 1949. In 1950, he entered the United States Navy and served during the Korean War on a mine sweeper,
the USS Impervious, off the coast of Japan and Korea, where he was an executive officer. Upon his discharge in 1956, he received a master's degree from Texas A&M University in 1958, and his PhD from Ohio State University in 1963. Bob was an associate professor
from 1963 to 1965 at Tarleton State University and from 1965 until his retirement, in 1998, at the University Of Texas in Arlington. On Dec. 28, 1960, he was united in marriage to Jane Treleaven in Oak Park, Ill. Jane preceded him in death on April 18, 2015.
Bob is also preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, George Kaska; and a brother, Nathan Boley. Survivors: Daughter, Mairi Kaska of Abbott and her fiance, Keith Johnson; grandchildren, Kyle Kaska and Natalie Kaska; niece and nephew, Robin Holcomb and
husband, Mark, and Robert Boley and wife, Jeri, and their families; and many other close friends and relatives.
