Anita Marie [Bruno] MacDonough
( April 12, 1966 - June 23, 2016 )

Anita Marie [Bruno] MacDonough, 50, of Denton went home to the Lord on June 23, 2016. She passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. She was born April 12, 1966 in Houston Texas to George and Marie (Ceasar) MacDonough.

Anita attended and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1988 and was very proud to be an Aggie! While in College Station, she met her husband Martin Bruno and together they moved to Denton, Texas to open several college bars and restaurants. These business are both in and out of Texas.

Anita was very athletic, her love of sports extended across the spectrum, her favorite teams were of course her Texas A&M Aggies and her Houston Oilers, now known as the Houston Texans. During her college days she interned with former President George H. Bush in Washington D.C., this fueled her passion for Political Science and even inspired her to be active within her own community politics.

She loved her friends dearly and they together were able to start the Denton tradition of the Annual Charity Mudbug Boil that has just celebrated 20 years of good food, music and friendship. All the proceeds have gone to various charities within the Denton Community. Anita was intensely proud of this event and what it provided for the community.

She is survived by her immediate family, her children, daughter Madison Marie Bruno 18. Twin sons, Nicholas Charles Bruno, 16, and Leo David Bruno, 16, as well as Ashton Rae Bruno Pracht, 28, husband Aaron Lee Pracht, 29, and granddaughter Hayden Greenly Pracht, 3. She is also survived by her father George MacDonough of Conroe, Texas. Her brothers George Jr MacDonough, Charles MacDonough, Johnathan MacDonough, Stephen MacDonough, Joseph MacDonough, and sisters Barbara Jimmerson and Mary Meyer-Meeldijk and their spouses. Also surviving are many nephews, nieces and friends that she, no doubt, considered family.

She is preceded in death by her mother Marie (Ceasar) MacDonough.

A Rosary will be said at 11:30 with a Mass of Resurrection to follow at the Immaculate Conception Church in Denton, Texas on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. 2031 N. Bonnie Bra Denton, Texas 26234

The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for the wonderful care during this difficult time. In lieu of flower donations may be made in Anita’s memory to Friends of the Family.
