It is with profound sadness and sense of loss that we share with family and friends the news of Kevin's death. Although we must all endure the present deficit caused by his passing, please take a few moments to review his 24 years of life with us. We feel certain that the thoughts provoked by his biography will lighten our collective burden. We remember that friends and family describe Kevin's manner as genuinely nice, sincere, and caring. We all believe that Kevin's soul is a rest and at peace.

By the end of Kevin's life, he had fulfilled his mission to continue a tradition of military duty in time of war. The Moore, Collins, and Schweizer families remain collectively and unspeakably proud that he became a Marine to contribute to this tradition. Prior to enlisting and volunteering for early deployment to Iraq, Kevin attended Texas A&M in College Station, admitted to the College of Engineering. He completed two years at TAMU, ultimately submitting to his dream of being a Marine and serving his country.

His interests during his teenage years varied from band (a 9-year clarinet veteran) to fishing; from stamp collecting to cross country running; from sailing to polo. He dallied in cross country, took a trip to Canada for the 1996 World Games with the high school team, and rode horses with his sister, Jennifer. He inherited the family stamp collection and the original "Smith Lake, Alabama Sailboat". He took regular fishing trips to the Gulf of Mexico for trout with Barry, Craig, and Jennifer. Trips to North Carolina, Hawaii, Europe, China, and Alaska with Grandaddy Clyde added to Kevin's zest for experiencing life. We hunted as a family; hiking, backpacking, and camping when the seasons allowed. We took numerous cross country treks in our "Camper-Top" and countless Texas drives, not discounting the Chihuahua Desert Trip! From climbing trees playing Cowboys and Indians with friends at our "home in the country", to playing "squirrels" in the stream bottom with his sister while camping, Kevin's actions were all boy and young man, infused with a sense of awe and keen humor.

Nothing in life is accomplished alone, for "no man is an island". Kevin, in our opinion, was the epitome of this quote. Neighbors, classmates, and buddies were friends, and greatly contributed to his growth into Kevin, the man; no longer " Lil' Mo" .

His birth at home was normal and as natural as Kevin grew to be. He came into the world positively set, with his eyes open, and had expectations upon arrival! Kevin's expectations were achieved by his family; our expectations of him were met and exceeded; and we will continue to meet his. As a "little one" he once charged all members of his family "one ticket" to access the halls of our home! And he asked about movies, "is that real, is that happening?"

In all his actions, Kevin was unafraid to be true to himself. He "did it true", as a Grandson, a Leader, a Marine, as a Friend, Brother, and Son.
