Died: May 22, 2016

Gladewater ~ J.O. Williams, Jr., passed away at home Sunday, May 22, 2016 surrounded by family. J.O. was born in Bernice Louisiana on October 6, 1929 to Johnson Otis Williams and Ella Mae Odom Williams. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Gladewater at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 with Mr. Jerry Williams and Reverend Bailey Harris officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service. Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.

Mr. Williams is survived by wife of 65 years, Joyce Ann Westmoreland Williams, brother, William Jerry Williams; son, Michael Williams and wife, Lynn Ann; Son, Mason Williams and wife, Cindy; grandsons: Dash Williams and wife, Jennifer and William “Mase” Williams; granddaughters: Betsy Williams Thompson and husband, Chris and Ella Mae Williams; great-grandchildren, Collin Williams, Kaleb Williams, Mason Thompson, Connor Thompson and Dylan Williams; caregivers, Tasha Timmons, Elizabeth Strickland, and C.J. Green. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved baby brother, R. Neal Williams in 2013.

J.O. was a graduate of Gladewater High School where he was an all-state drummer, a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He served in the Korean War as a 1st Lieutenant in Artillery as a Forward Observer. He was a past president of the Gladewater Lion’s Club, Deacon at First Baptist Church of Gladewater of which he was a lifelong member.

J. O. worked and owned “J.O. Williams Motor” for 64 years. His passions were serving and loving his savior Jesus Christ, his wife and family, Tennis, Bowling and praying, he was a prayer warrior.

Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Williams, Jimmie Williams, John Paul Talent, Dash Williams, Mase Williams, Collin Williams, Kaleb Williams, Christopher Thompson, Mason Thompson and Connor Thompson. The employees of J.O. Williams Motors are serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family asks in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and to HeartsWay Hospice of NE Texas. Thank you for your prayers during this time. Amen.
