Darrell W. Engel, 67, of Travis, died Friday, May 20, 2016, at his residence. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Rosebud. Rev. Jody Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in Phillips Cemetery in Travis.
Mr. Engel was born July 16, 1948 in Rosebud to Johnnie B. and Violet Morris Engel. He graduated from Rosebud High School in 1966 and Texas A & M University in 1970. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1974. He married Annette Deorsam on August 11, 1984. He farmed in Falls County since 1974 and was the first Director of Communications at the Advanced Learning Center at Rosebud-Lott High School and later became the Director of Maintenance until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rosebud and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bennett Engel.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Engel of Travis
Two sons, Travis Engel of Waco and Lee Bullock and wife Susan of Austin
Three daughters, Lacy Williams and husband Joe of Travis, Kristie Madden and husband Kendall of Cedar Park, and Shellie Chaney of Houston
One brother, James Engel of Waxahachie and one sister, Beverly Engel of Garland
5 Grandchildren: Elizabeth Bullock, Emilee Bullock, Easton Bullock, Thomas James Williams, and Riley Williams.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
